Week 1

As a part of my artistic development and final year of my master’s degree, I want to work more on my composition skills.  Through this master’s degree, I am trying to approach the cello in a new way, going away from the classical school, and finding my way of playing and practising cello. Therefor I want to make composition a bigger part of my day-to-day practice, linking it up to my improvisation and repertoire.

This composition project is all about me accepting the process and being confident in the fact that I am always developing. The goal is not for the compositions to be great, it is more about discovering, learning, pushing myself and exploring my curiosity.

Therefore I challenge myself to make a small composition weekly throughout this school year. I will need to publish the results in some way of a new composition every week. My only requirement is that the cello needs to be a part of it:)

So here it goes, week one (or 36 for us who use weeks). Exploring getting back to my cello after a long summer break.

Excited to see where this project takes me!
