About

Sigrid Sand Angelsen is a cellist, improviser and composer based in Trondheim, Norway. Being a classically trained musician, she works with making the cello into a more versatile instrument by exploring the cello’s role and sound in other genres. 

With a bachelor’s degree in classical cello from NTNU and a master’s degree in New Audience and Innovative Practice from The Royal Conservatory, The Hague, she works in a variety of genres and projects. She has played with ensembles like Trondheim Jazzorchestra, the Trondheim soloists and New Europen Ensemble, in addition to working with her own projects and collaborating with other musicians and artists.
